Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac Rehabilitation is a monitored exercise therapy and education program for people who have experienced heart surgery or heart disease. The goal is to assist patients to increase their physical capacity through exercise and to reduce the risk of further heart disease. The program is divided into three phases designed to meet the individual needs of each client.
Occupational Therapy
Our certified Occupational Therapists assist patients in restoring their ability to perform daily living tasks such as bathing, walking, and eating after injury or illness. They also work with people of all ages who, because of physical, developmental, social, or emotional problems, need specialized assistance to lead productive and satisfying lives.
Occupational Therapy services include:
- Customized treatment programs aimed at improving a patient’s ability to carry out activities of daily living
- Comprehensive evaluation of home and job environments and recommendations on necessary adaptations
- Assessment and treatment for work performance skills
- Recommendations and training in the use of adaptive equipment to replace lost function
- Instructions to family members and attendants in safe and effective methods of caring for persons with disabilities
- Hand rehabilitation
- Custom splint fabrication
- Sensory reeducation
- Cognitive assessment
- Pediatric assessment and treatment
Physical Therapy
Our certified Physical Therapists help aid in the healing and treatment of body movement disorders due to injury or illness. Some of the more common conditions we treat include:
- Orthopedic conditions such as low back and neck pain, headaches, and osteoporosis
- Joint and soft-tissue injuries such as sprains and strains, hand injuries, fractures and dislocations, and pre- and post-surgical conditions
- Neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, cerebral palsy, peripheral nerve injury and multiple sclerosis
- Integumentary conditions such as burns, skin ulcers, and wounds
- Arthritic conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis
- Systemic diseases such as cancer
- Cardiopulmonary and circulatory conditions such as congestive heart failure, emphysema, and lymphedema
- Work place injuries such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cumulative trauma and stress disorders
- Sports injuries such as overuse injuries and trauma in recreational and school athletes
- Pediatric conditions
Speech and Language Therapy
Speech and language pathologists work with patients of all ages and treat a variety of conditions including word finding difficulties, slurred speech, and stuttering disorders. They also work closely with physicians and dietitians to determine the safest diet for a patient when swallowing difficulties are present. Our speech and language therapy services include:
- Speech and language evaluations
- Swallow and videofluoroscopy evaluations
- Articulation treatment
- Swallowing therapy
- Listening and memory training
- Pediatric evaluations and treatment
- Early language intervention
