Radiology is a safe, effective, non-surgical method of testing and diagnosis. Our radiology technologists are specially trained and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). We make every effort to make you feel as comfortable as possible before, during and after your procedure.
Our radiology services include:
- Diagnostic X-ray for viewing bones, the chest and abdomen.
- CT (Computerized Tomography), a specialized x-ray that views the body in three-dimensional sections.
- Dexa Scan (Bone Density), a quick, painless procedure for measuring bone loss.
- Mille Lacs Health System offers the following radiology services in partnership with Central Minnesota Diagnostic Imaging (CMDI).
- Ultra Sound (sonography), which uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of organs and many blood vessels in the body without radiation.
- Full Field Digital Mammography, a type of imaging that uses low-dose x-ray for examination of the breast.
- MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), which uses computerized processing in conjunction with a magnetic field and radio frequency waves to make detailed, three-dimensional images of most parts of the body.
- Nuclear Medicine, which uses a mild, radioactive tracer to diagnose and treat abnormalities of the bone, living, thyroid, lung, heart or other soft tissue.
