Tom Bracken, MD Recipient of 2009 St. Francis Award

Dr. Bracken is a true example of “servant leadership” that defines
St. Francis and is the core of MLHS values. He is an advocate, will make home visits, and carry laundry or whatever is needed at the moment for whoever is in need. Over the years, Tom has been the voice of unity and stability during times of change at MLHS. When it comes to compassion and sincerity of heart, he is unsurpassed.

Mille Lacs Health System supports and encourages all employees to create a caring and compassionate healing environment for those we serve. The annual St. Francis Award was established in 1989 to identify fellow employees who are both role models and an inspiration to others.

Nomination criteria is based on the prayer of St. Francis as well as the values of Mille Lacs Health System.
