New MLHS Education Program for those with Diabetes

06/29/2010 - 11:15am

In response to the staggering increase in diabetes among Americans, the Mille Lacs Health System has developed an education program specifically designed to educate those with diabetes so that they can live a carefully monitored but healthy life.

This program, certified by the American Diabetic Association, is designed to increase awareness of diabetes, to teach those who have it how to live with it and to offer a support system along with the latest information available, on an ongoing basis. If you are diagnosed with diabetes, your doctor will be required to refer you to the program. Because it is certified, Medicare and insurance plans are able to pay for this service.
