On Tuesday, July 29th, Mille Lacs Health System was proud to host a Town Hall and Open House for our community, providers, and employees. Chief Executive Officer Andy Knutson welcomed everyone and introduced the new senior team members: Chief Financial Officer, Amy Ninham, and Chief Nursing Officer, Janelle Christie. Our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Patti Hook, was also in attendance.
In all, about 15 community members attended, along with more than twice that number of MLHS providers, leadership, and employees. During the presentation, Andy Knutson, CEO, shared slides of our providers and talked about the current healthcare landscape - nationally, across Minnesota, and in rural areas like ours. He reflected on the challenges that healthcare has faced since COVID-19, as well as the goals we’re working toward: growing services, strengthening recruitment, building a strong organizational culture, enhancing the patient experience, and deepening our connection with the communities we serve.
“We are committed to building a bright future for healthcare in our region,” said CEO Andy Knutson. “Hearing your questions and feedback helps guide our decisions as we continue to grow and strengthen the patient experience here at Mille Lacs Health System.”
After the presentation, facility tours were offered of many of the areas that were remodeled during the pandemic, including the Emergency Department, Cafeteria, Hospital, Radiology, Lab, Same Day Surgery, Chapel, Sleep Rooms, and Speech & Occupational Therapy spaces.
The evening wrapped up with excellent questions and conversations. A huge thank you to everyone who joined us! If you weren’t able to attend, but would like to share your experiences and feedback, please contact our Quality Department at 320-532-2420 or quality@mlhealth.org - we truly value your input as we work to grow and better serve our community.
We also want to encourage you to complete every patient survey you receive from MLHS, whether by email, text, or mail. These surveys are carefully reviewed each month by multiple departments and our leadership team. And, if you have more than one visit, for example, a clinic appointment and a visit to our Rehab Department, you may receive a separate survey for each area. We truly appreciate your feedback for every encounter, as it helps us continue to improve your experience and the care we deliver.
We look forward to continuing conversation and keeping the lines of communication open with our communities.
