MLHS Welcomes New Executive Director of Human Resources

Mille Lacs Health System (MLHS) is pleased to announce the addition of Erin Hjort to its senior leadership team as the new Executive Director of Human Resources. She began her role on September 22.
Hjort brings more than 25 years of human resources experience to MLHS, including 20 years with CentraCare, where she most recently served as Executive Director of Human Resources. Her extensive background includes leadership in long-term care, clinic operations, mergers and acquisitions, and systemwide human resources strategy and support.
A lifelong resident of Mille Lacs County, Hjort was born in what is now the MLHS Milaca Clinic and graduated from Milaca High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in human resources management from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth and a Master of Business Administration from the college’s St. Cloud campus.
Hjort began her human resources career with Target Corporation, serving as the first HR Manager for the Cambridge, Minnesota store. She later held leadership positions in several store locations and at Target’s corporate headquarters before transitioning to the healthcare field.
“I’m thrilled to now be part of Mille Lacs Health System, where my passion for meaningful experiences and the purpose of caregiving converge in the communities I call home,” Hjort said.
She and her husband live north of Milaca where they are raising their four children and enjoy snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, attending their children’s sporting events, and spending time outdoors with their dogs.
MLHS is excited to welcome Erin Hjort to the organization and looks forward to the leadership, experience, and community connection she brings to her new role.
