MLHS Welcomes Dr. Shawn McGee, Urologist

Mille Lacs Health System (MLHS) is pleased to welcome Shawn McGee, MD, Urologist. With experience in both diagnostic and surgical urology, Dr. McGee provides care for a variety of urinary and urologic conditions.
Bringing more than 15 years of experience in urology to MLHS, McGee earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical School and completed his general surgery internship and urologic surgery residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He is board certified by the American Board of Urology and has provided urologic care throughout Central Minnesota since 2009.
His interests include treating kidney stones, improving urinary function through laser prostate treatments, and treating cancers of the kidney, prostate and bladder. He also appreciates the variety of patients and conditions that are part of urologic care.
“I enjoy being able to treat all ages of patients, kids and adults, as well as urinary problems that both men and women are experiencing,” McGee said.
At MLHS, urology services include vasectomy, cystoscopy, prostate evaluation and treatment, kidney stone management, bladder health treatment, treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), incontinence evaluation and treatment, and men's health services. McGee said kidney stones and urinary concerns are among the areas he especially hopes to help patients manage at MLHS.
Accessibility and timely care are important parts of McGee’s approach to patient care. “I appreciate the opportunity to provide urologic care at Mille Lacs Health System, being available to see patients quickly and manage their care locally,” McGee said.
