Mille Lacs Health System (MLHS) is pleased to welcome Christine Park, MD, General Surgeon. Dr. Park brings experience in a variety of general surgery procedures and a patient-centered approach focused on trust, communication, and compassionate care.
Park earned her medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine in New York and completed her general surgery residency training at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York and Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey. She also completed a research fellowship in pediatric surgery at Yale School of Medicine and previously practiced general surgery in New York.
At MLHS, Park provides a range of general surgery services, including hernia repairs, gallbladder and appendix surgery, and small and large bowel procedures. Additional services include colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, chemotherapy access, dialysis access procedures, cyst and mass excisions, lymph node biopsies, and wound care.
Park approaches each patient with care and consideration. “My general idea for approaching medical care is to only do what I would do for my own family and treat people as if they were one of my own,” Park said.
Recognizing that surgery can be an intimidating experience, Park believes building trust between patients and their surgeon is an important part of care. She encourages patients to ask questions, express concerns, and get to know the healthcare team involved in their treatment.
Park moved to Minnesota to be closer to family and looks forward to raising her children in a rural community. She is also excited about the opportunity to provide surgical care to patients who may otherwise have limited access to services.
Outside of work, Park enjoys reading, particularly science fiction, and spending time outdoors. She also looks forward to exploring more of what Minnesota has to offer, including fishing and hunting.
Dr. Park sees patients at Mille Lacs Health System in Onamia and Milaca through a provider referral. For questions about general surgery services, contact the Surgical Services department at 320-532-2460.
